Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment

Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex and South West London

Hello, I'm Claire,

I'm a Helen Arkell trained Specialist Dyslexia Teacher and Diagnostic Assessor who helps children and young adults to unlock their potential.

A diagnostic dyslexia assessment will investigate their difficulties, identify the underlying causes and, if appropriate, provide a diagnosis of dyslexia.   Just as importantly, it will provide recommendations to equip them with strategies that they can use to make their academic experience more successful and fulfilling.

Call for a free initial consultation.

If you have made it this far, you may have noticed that your child sees things a little differently!  You may have embraced this, but still worry that it may be limiting their academic potential.

Some children have the most fantastic ideas but simply can't get them down on paper quickly enough because reading, writing or spelling can be challenging for them.

A comprehensive Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment will provide clarity by highlighting strengths which can improve self-esteem, identifying any areas for development and providing recommendations for support strategies for school and at home.

I am passionate about empowering students with the skills, confidence, and strategies they need to thrive academically and beyond...

Let me help unlock their potential!

About Claire

I am a fully qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS) with experience ranging from Reception to Year 8. It was while teaching younger children at a local school that I developed an interest in dyslexia.  I realised that reading, writing and spelling skills, taught with the more traditional teaching methods, simply did not click into place for some children.  This led me to train as a Specialist Teacher (Level 5) at the prestigious Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre so that I could support children with dyslexia and other literacy difficulties.  As this area fascinated me, I progressed to the Level 7 (Master's) Specialist Assessor Qualification at Helen Arkell.

I believe that individual assessment and personalised specialist tuition not only support childrens' academic success, but more importantly, improves their self esteem.

I have three children, two dogs and two cats.  I am a volunteer with Pets as Therapy, visiting schools as part of the Read to Dogs programme, as well as visiting other institutions such as universities and care homes to promote wellbeing.
